In 2005 the Mentally Fit Institute became a partner of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. (QEMC).
The QEMC was created in the early 19th century by her Majesty Queen Elisabeth, and gradually grew to a renowned academy of high level teaching, in this magical resort of Argenteuil. The world’s highest virtuosi , aged 10 to 27, apply every year, to be granted with the most exceptional teachings and Master Classes in violin, piano, song and chamber-music.
The development programs of those young talents also include guidance in non-technical issues, such as a proper life-style, personal energy, nutrition, recuperation, self-control, stress-control… To serve the higher potential of its students, the QEMC delegated the teaching of these subjects to the Mentally fit Institute.
Followed individually, every student build up a tailor-made program with his coach. So did also Plamena Mangova, who just won the second price of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Contest. In their preparation to competitions, concerts, and great events, Plamena and many other students of the QEMC are personally coached.
The Mentally Fit Institute is delighted by this contribution to the fulfilment of those young talents. Whether in sports, in arts or in business, the expression of talents is one of the highlights of Mentally Fit’s inquiry.
In this sense, the partnership with the Queen Elisabeth music Chapel became to us a very deep concern.
The Mentally Fit Programs to the specific attention of schoolteachers, made us very represented in the world of education.
The relationship between students and teachers is in constant evolution. Teachers seem no longer deserve the authority and respect of their function, they need to readjust their attitude towards their students, their diversity and their difference.
The knowledge and competences of the single IQ-level fail in framing the teacher-student relationship. The impact of the EQ ( Emotional Quotient) on the PhQ ( Physical Quotient) ends up in damaging the human qualities of the teachers. Not only do machines break down, sadly enough also mankind do!
“ Coach the Coach” became a relevant principle in this approach to guide teachers to acquire the strength to lead, by coaching them in self-control towards physical and verbal aggression, stress-control, body-language, and sanction / reward- options.
At the occasion of pedagogic sessions and parent-teacher conferences, our specific coaching programs answered number of arising questions on these topics.
The workshops are meant to develop teacher’s coaching competences to help students discerning and unfolding talents. As we are convinced that every child, every individual hides inside a share of magic, the Mentally Fit Institute was often approached to help people blossoming out this ingenious part.
Our second deep concern was to contribute to emerging potentials in the educational environments.
Sport teaches us to find harmony inside, to be self-conscious, and to be aware of the strengths and the weaknesses. To listen to the self and to understand it.
Hence, it teaches us to live in tune with the others, with the team-mates, with the coaches, the supporters. It learns us how to observe, to listen to them and to comprehend., to accept them as they are, without trying to change them to suit us.
While practicing a sport discipline makes encounter the self, high level practicing surpasses the self.
The distance between victory and defeat lays as much in the technical and physical capacities as in the mental and emotional balance. Top athletes admit that to obtain the highest level, a high mental performance is required.
We believe that mental training has nothing to do with the killer instinct or the victory-rage. But it is rather determined by a very precise control of thoughts and acts under pressure.
Therefore the athlete will often train his mental, his physical and his emotional capacities.
Developing human potential through the sports discipline is our third deep concern.
Concentration techniques, rituals and self-control, control of the inner dialogue, a solution oriented mind, mental detachment techniques and visualisation.
EMOTIONAL - learn to relax.
Control of emotional reactions, reinforce trust, resistance to stress, breathing and relaxation techniques…
PHYSIQUE - fill up vitality
Energy-sources, nutrition before, during and after efforts, sleep before and after effort, techniques of muscular relaxation, relaxing rituals, body-languages, physical sign …
1. Reinforce before competition
2. Resist under pressure, during competition
3. Recuperation after competition
Techniques of recuperation of energy
